As we look out our window at the 20 inches of snow covering our acres of shade trees, intermediates and evergreens, we can only hope that Punxsutawney Phil’s shadow means dealing with just six more weeks of snow-melting mild temperatures.

While its been nice hibernating in the office working on our new website, catalog and blog, we are more than ready to head outside and breathe the fresh air of spring. Our new blog, Doty Nurseries Notes, will offer plant care advice, information on new and exciting plants and current pest and disease issues.

We hope Doty Nurseries Notes not only helps you with your plant purchases and selections, but gives you the information needed to maintain healthy and beautiful landscapes.

We’ve been very busy preparing for the upcoming iLandscape Show, which will be February 25 - 27 at the Schaumburg Convention Center. If you have not already signed up, please do so! The iLandscape show features booths, the hottest products, amazing educational speakers, ILCA's Excellence in Landscape Awards Night, entertainment, and much more. Visit us at booth #204 for a chance to win two Chicago Blackhawks tickets to a game later this season! Click here for more information and registration.

We can only hope that the snow melts as quickly as it arrived. Although we won't know until the spring, we do know from the previous winter that the junipers will have maintained their strong structure and beautiful shades of green throughout the winter and into the spring. Check out our next blog post to see which plants survived this past winter and what Doty Nurseries recommends for preparing your landscape plantings for harsh winter conditions.
